AI Modes

WhisperTyping includes several AI modes that enhance your dictation with AI processing. These modes are triggered by saying specific phrases at the start of your dictation. All AI modes can be individually enabled or disabled in Settings → AI Modes.

Write Mode

Write Mode "Write..."

Creates polished text from your spoken prompt. Perfect for emails, messages, or any written content.

You say: "Write an email to John about rescheduling our meeting to next Tuesday"
Output: A professionally written email ready to send

Rewrite Mode

Rewrite Mode "Rewrite..."

Rewrites selected text or clipboard content based on your instructions. Select text first, then activate WhisperTyping.

You select: "the meeting is at 3pm tomorrow"
You say: "Rewrite this more formally"
Output: "The meeting has been scheduled for 3:00 PM tomorrow."

Answer Mode

Answer Mode "Answer..."

Answers questions about selected text or clipboard content. Great for summarizing, explaining, or analyzing text.

You select: A paragraph of technical documentation
You say: "Answer what does this code do?"
Output: A clear explanation of the selected code

Reply Mode

Reply Mode "Reply..."

Generates a reply based on clipboard content. Copy a message you received, then dictate your reply instructions.

You copy: An email asking about project status
You say: "Reply that the project is on track and will be done next week"
Output: A professional reply addressing the sender's question

Run Command Mode

Run Command Mode "Run command..." / "Open..."

Executes voice commands to open applications, websites, or perform system actions. Say "Open" followed by what you want to launch.

You say: "Open YouTube"
Result: Opens YouTube in your default browser

You say: "Open calculator"
Result: Launches the Windows Calculator

Custom Assistants

You can create your own AI assistants in Settings → AI Modes. Each assistant can have:

Custom trigger phrases
Custom system prompts
Context access settings (screen, clipboard, selection)
Output method (type directly, show in window, or run as command)
